Quarterly Black and Gold Awards Ceremony

Recognition of Volunteers Who went Above and Beyond

#
Note: This event has already passed.

The Black and Gold Award was created by the Volunteer Advisory Council (VAC) as an elite award for West Point volunteers who go above and beyond in their volunteer service. One key element in the award process is registration by the volunteer and documentation of volunteer hours. This process enables the installation to track the contributions of the volunteer workforce as well as provide the benefits allowed by law.

The Garrison Commander recognizes volunteers that have gone the extra mile in the West Point Community by promoting a sense of community and performing volunteer service with a professional, positive, and caring attitude. Volunteers may be nominated by anyone with knowledge of individual's contributions. Ceremonies are held quarterly on the 1st Thursday of March, June, September and December.
