Round Pond Recreation Area offers 28 RV camping spaces, 20 Tent sites, 4 Pop-Up sites, 8 Mini Log Cabins, 2 ADA Mini Log Cabins, 1 Rental Cottage, and 5 Party Pavilions. Trout stocked mountain lake, one ADA fishing pier, swimming beach, and hiking trails are all within walking distance from your site. Our main office offers services to include: Equipment Rental Center, firewood, bait, ice, ice cream, kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, mountain bikes and much more. The office also serves as the fishing boat control point

Reservations

Reservations for 2024 camping season can now be made by calling (845) 938-2503 between 9am-5pm.

Accepting Active Duty and CDT family reservations the day after MLK for that calendar year season.

Accepting all other Eligible reservations the day after Presidents Day for that calendar year season

Round Pond Season opens April 1st to second weekend in November.
All reservations require payment in full.
Limit two week maximum stay.
A sponsor may reserve a maximum of two sites per stay.

Cancellation Policy -Group reservations which are defined as any reservations where patron(s) reserve more than one(1) unit. Due to limited availability, the following policies are in effect for Group Reservation Cancellations:

(a) Cancellations by patrons within thirty (30) days of reservation will be charged one-night per unit cancelled

(b) Cancellations within fourteen (14) days will be charged up to the full amount of the reservation charge per unit cancelled.

Check-in is at the Round Pond Main Office. ID to verify eligibility is required. Authorized ID card holder must be present throughout the stay. RV and Tent Site check-in: 1pm daily. Cabin and Cottage check-in: 2pm daily. After hours check-in may be coordinated with the main office by calling 845-938-2503 before 5pm on your check-in day.

Check-out is at the Round Pond Main Office and must be completed by 11am on the last day of the reservation.

Rental Cottage, Mini Log Cabins, and Tent Sites can be booked online up to five days prior to stay. Rental Cottage and Mini Log Cabin two night minimum when booking online. Call office if booking within five days of reservation OR if reserving one night. Webtrac account required to reserve online.

Eligibility

Active Duty Military, Retired Military, Disabled Veterans, Reservists, DOD Civilians, Installation Contractors, Cadet Parents and Grandparents and those listed in AR 215-1, paragraph 7-1 are eligible to camp at the Round Pond Recreation Area.

Authorized User Verification: A valid ID card must be presented at check-in indicating proof of meeting the eligibility requirement.

$60 per night / $85 per night Army Home Football and Holiday Weekends

  • 8 Mini Cabins and 2 ADA Mini Cabins are available
  • Minimum 2 night stay weekends, Army home games & holidays
  • All sites include electricity, mini fridge, and table with 4 chairs. Porch with 2 chairs, fire ring for campfires, picnic table, and a small picnic grill.
  • No plumbing, must use community bathhouse.
  • Sleeps a maximum of 4 guests on a full sized bed and a set of bunkbeds (Bring own linens)
  • No pets and no smoking

Rental Cottage
$200/per night, $250/per night (2 night minimum stay/Football and Holiday Weekends)

  • $25 Security fee required at time of check-in (Refundable)
  • Sleeps 6 on queen bed and 2 futons (Bring own linens)
  • Full bathroom with standup shower. Kitchen with 2 burner stove, small fridge, pots & pans, coffee pot, plates, cups, and utensils. Porch with 2 rocking chairs, fire ring, picnic table, and picnic grill.

  • Lifeguards are responsible for overall safety, not supervision. Parents/guardians provide the first line of protection and are responsible for the actions of their children and any guests under their care.
  • Children 5 and under must have a guardian in the water within arm’s reach at all times.
  • Children 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Smoking and Alcohol consumption is prohibited on the beach.
  • NO: loud music, profanity, intoxication, open fires, or trespassing.
  • NO: glass, pets, horseplay, running, diving, swimming outside of the designated swim area, or boats on the beach/in the swimming area.
  • Inflatable rafts and water wings are not permitted. All personal flotation devices must be USCG approved.
  •  Any patron distraction of a lifeguard stationed in chair is prohibited.
  • A 15 minute rest period will be given every hour regardless of the number of patrons at the facility. At 15 minutes to the hour a signal is given and all swimmers under the age of 15 must exit the water.
  • Patrons will be required to exit the water if there is thunder or lightning within 10 miles. There is a 30 minute wait from the last occurrence of thunder or lightning.
  • THE LIFEGUARDS ARE IN CHARGE AND ALL SWIMMERS WILL BE EXPECTED TO OBEY THEIR COMMANDS AT ALL TIMES. AFTER ONE WARNING, THOSE WHO DO NOT FOLLOW THE RULES WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE. IF A SECOND WARNING MUST BE GIVEN, MILITARY POLICE WILL BE CALLED.
  • Patrons must wear cloth or other face coverings upon entering the facility and when receiving first aid; masks will not be worn in the water.
  • Physical distancing guidelines of at least six feet of separation must be maintained by parties at all times, including in the water. Social distancing will be strictly enforced.
  • Personal water toys and inflatables are not permitted at this time. Sand toys are OK but should not be shared.

While visiting Round Pond Beach please be mindful of onsite physical distancing protocols and safety guidelines. We appreciate your patience with the difference in operations as we strive to protect the health and safety of you and our team.

Round Pond Rules and Policies

In order for all or our patrons to enjoy their stay at Round Pond, we ask that you follow our few sensible rules.

1)      The speed limit throughout the campground is 10mph.

2)      Management reserves the right to relocate or change reserved sites at any time.

3)      Mini Cabins, RV sites, and tent sites are strictly for recreational residency and are not party facilities. Parties may be booked at the Pavilions.

4)      The sponsor booking a site is 100% responsible for their guests and must remain with them at all times. Children under the age of 14 must be supervised at all times.

5)      Camping and picnic areas must be kept clean and orderly. Campsites are not to be altered, expanded, or amenities shared/ taken from other campsites. Picnic tables and fire rings are not to be moved. The Sponsor will be responsible for all damages and vandalism to the facility, picnic table and surrounding grounds. Upon departure campers are responsible for policing the area in the immediate vicinity of the area they have rented. A security deposit will be collected at the time of Check-in for the cottage, mini cabins and the Bonneville cabin.

6)      Fire in grills provided must be made with charcoal only. Fires in ground pits or fire rings may be made with wood. Open ground fires (no containment system) are not permitted at any time. All fires must be extinguished before you leave your site. Wood or logs for campfires cannot exceed the diameter of the fire ring. Round Pond Staff has the right to extinguish any fire too large or a safety risk; Example: wind or dry conditions

7)      Help us preserve our woods. Please do not cut trees or trim branches for firewood or dig up saplings. Only firewood that was purchased within a 50 mile radius can be brought into the recreation area. Firewood can be purchsed at the main office.

8)      Dumping of any portable camping toilet water is prohibited. Dumping of any camper waste water, including grey water, other than at the dump station behind the bath house is prohibited. No washing of dishes in the Bathhouse. Washing of vehicles at the campground is prohibited.

9)      Firearms, bows and arrows, ATV’s, golf carts, gas motored boats, motorized scooters, and fireworks of any kind are not permitted at the campground.

10)   Pets are not permitted on the beach, picnic areas, and cabins or in the water at Round Pond. Pets should be leashed and cleaned up after at all times. Management reserves the right to ask patrons with loud, unruly pets to remove them from the recreational area. All pet owners are required to present paperwork to the office for proof of up to date Rabies vaccine. A boarding kennel is available at Morgan Farm +1 (845)938-3926.

11)  Alcoholic beverages may be consumed in moderation IAW laws established by the state of New York.  Intoxicated campers will be asked to check out. MP’s will be called for failure to comply. Alcoholic beverages and glass containers are not permitted in the swim area to include the Community House and on the beach.

12)  Quiet time is from 10pm-8am. At this time please keep noise to a minimum and do not have bright lights shining. Campers are asked to respect other campers by not using vulgar language or trespassing in other sites. All daytime guests must leave Round Pond by 10pm. Management has the right to ask unruly campers to leave the premises.

13)  Swimming is permitted in the designated area within the floating buoy lines only and is prohibited after dark. There is no swimming or wading in the shores other than the designated swim area.

14)  Persons age 16 and older must have a current recreational area daily fishing permit (available at Round Pond) in order to fish at any of the installation ponds, lakes, or streams. Those patrons fishing should always dispose of their trash and not leave fishing line, bait containers or garbage on the shoreline.

15)  There must be a person over 16 years of age on all boats and everyone must wear life vests. Swimming or diving off boats, alcoholic beverages and horseplay are prohibited.

16)  Outdoor Recreation, the campground, DFMWR, and Army assume no responsibility for damaged, lost, or stolen property during campers stay.
