West Point Oktoberfest 2024

Join MWR for our 14^th annual West Point Oktoberfest at the Victor Constant Ski Area on September 27^th & 28^th!

This 2-day event will feature traditional German food, drink, and live music, and will take place in two distinct parts:

Friday the 27^th (Opening day): 4pm-9pm

Friday is Opening Day, which will start and end later, host the Opening Ceremony and keg tap with the Garrison Commander, and have games, competitions, and entertainment more geared towards adults.

Childcare for the first day of Oktoberfest will be available to reserve through CYS at their "Parents' Night Out" event, hosted at the Stony CDC.

Saturday the 28^th (Family Day): 3pm-8pm

Saturday is Family Day, which will start and end earlier, and host games, competitions, and entertainment more geared towards a younger audience.

Enjoy authentic German musical entertainment provided by Alpine Squeeze and The Swedish Meatballs, and food provided by the West Point Club and West Point Golf Course! Both days feature delicious food, beverages, and entertainment, but Saturday will be a little more kid-friendly with Kinder Korner, brought to you with the support of the West Point Spouses' Club.

Pre-purchase your admission online via Webtrac for just $3 per person, starting Aug 29^th! Online sales will end at 11:59pm on Thursday, September 26^th. Activity Descriptions

Hatchet Throwing

Release your inner warrior and experience the thrill of throwing a hatchet with Hudson Valley Hatchet! Hatchet throwing dates back to the 7th century with the Vikings. They practiced and used it for survival. Practice to compete in the bullseye competition on Friday Night!

Hatchet Throwing Bullseye Contest *NEW for 2024

Sign up and for our Hatchet Throwing Bullseye Competition, where skill and precision meet competitive fun! In this thrilling event, participants will take aim at wooden targets, striving for the coveted bullseye with each throw. With 7 chances to hit as many bullseyes as possible, competitors will need steady hands and sharp focus to secure the top spot. Whether you are a seasoned thrower or a first timer, come and test your accuracy, enjoy the energetic atmosphere, and see if you have what it takes to become the hatchet throwing champion! A prize will be awarded to the winning male and female competitors.

Kinderkorner

The West Point Spouses Club is back and better than ever for some fun filled kids activities for Family Fun Day! Join them for face painting, arts and crafts and games that the kids will love!

CYS KidZone *NEW for 2024

West Point Child and Youth services will be on site with some great additions for Family Day! Join them for a bounce house, games and activities that will enhance the Oktoberfest experience for all!

Pie Eating Contest *NEW for 2024

Are you always eating too fast? Well now is the time to put your talent to the test. Sign up for the pie eating contest where you will be testing your speed. There will be both an adult and kid competition. Winner of the competition will be awarded a prize. Kids and adults can both sign up at the beverage trailer. Pies are provided courtesy of the event sponsor Bear Mountain Bakery.

Mr. & Mrs. Oktoberfest

Awards will be given to the best dressed on each day. Adult only competition is Friday with the Children only competition on Saturday. Winners will be announced that night. Registration is that day at the beverage trailer.

Stein Holding Contest

Are you strong enough to outlast all others? Can you beat the times of 2 minutes and 36 seconds for females and 4 minutes and 23 seconds for males from 2022? Let’s put that to the test! The game is simple: hold a 1 liter glass stein filled to the brim with liquid, with your arm held at a straight ninety degree angle in front of you, parallel to the floor, with your elbow locked. Once a competitor’s elbow bends or spills/drops the stein, the person is removed from the contest. Feet must be square, shoulder-width apart, and back must be straight. Longest time wins the competition. Competition will be held each day, with a men’s and women’s category. Registration is day of at the beverage trailer.

Dachshund Race

Everyone’s favorite race is back this year, and will be held Saturday the 28^th at 4pm! Registration is that day at the beverage trailer. Prizes will be awarded to the fastest weiner dog!

Stammtisch

Stammtisch, or "Regular's Table" reservations are available Friday and Saturday for $80. Included in your reservation is Admission for up to 6 people, a table, 6 chairs, a private canopy, name plate, and 6 beverage tickets. Signage will be placed on the table to ID your area. Reservations can be made now through September 26^th. Tables can be purchased online. You can also reserve your table by visiting our Leisure Travel Services (LTS) office or by calling (845) 938-3601.

• General sales for all beverages (beer and wine) are $6 (1 ticket).
• All 1 liter stein refills are $12 (2 tickets).
• Steins & tickets can be purchased from the designated booth, just beyond admissions.
• Soft drinks can be purchased from the West Point Club (outside) or the West Point Golf Course Snack Bar (inside the Ski Lodge).

Food:

• Food can be purchased from our food vendors, the West Point Club located outside near the Ski Lift House or inside the Ski Lodge at the West Point Golf Course Snack Bar!
