West Point Tree Lighting Ceremony & Trees for Troops
The West Point Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place Monday, December 7, 1800hrs. A few notable changes this year are as follows:
The event will be 100% virtual via Facebook Livestream. No in-person gathering permitted. Livestream will take place on the West Point Garrison & Community Facebook (www.facebook.com/USAGWestPoint) at 1800hrs. Musical performance by the West Point Band Brass Quintet will kick off the ceremony, followed by an Invocation, remarks from the Garrison Commander, a special visit from Santa, and a magical light display!
Following the ceremony, beginning at 1830, the West Point BOSS Program will begin the #TreesforTroops distribution at the Main Exchange Parking Lot. The first hour (1830-1930) is allocated for Junior uniformed military personnel. Following 1930, any remaining trees will then be offered to all military personnel until supplies last. Patrons must be wearing face coverings and remain socially distanced. Trees are offered on a first come, first served basis, while supplies last. Patrons must provide own supplies for securing trees to vehicles.
