Wilderness Explorers

Wilderness Explorers is a fun, low-barrier program designed to connect youth to nature by encouraging exploration and increasing kids’ comfort with spending time in nature. This nature discovery program focuses on environmental likeability, rather than environmental literacy.

Classes are at the Happy Mt Pavilion in the Round Pond Recreation Area.

For Children Ages 4-10

Thu, Jul 11: Creepy Crawlies
Learn what creatures do and why.

Tues, Jul 16: Leave No Trace
Educating the 7 Principles.

Thu, Jul 18: Making Camp 
Intent to suggest camping can be fun.

Tues, Jul 23: Picnic Day
Park Activities.

Thu, Jul 25: The Animal Kingdom
With special guests: Hudson Highlands Nature Museum and their live animals.
