Summer is here so what better way to celebrate than by having a Sidewalk Chalk Art competition. MWR wants to see how beautiful you can make the sidewalks and driveways of West Point. To compete, submit a photo of chalk artwork with the artists name and age to the event page between June 15 and June 21. Judging will take place June 22 to June 24 by the West Point community on Facebook. Winners will be announced June 25.
Rules:
· Only washable chalk may be in your design. No acrylic paints, liquid pastels, oil -based pastels, hard pastels, etc. will be allowed
· All artwork must be appropriate for public viewing by all ages
· No political messages, words or symbols intended as advertising may appear in the images
· Organizers have the right to disqualify and/or remove any inappropriate art or writing as they deem necessary
· Official judging will be done June 22 to June 24 on Facebook. Community members will like (1 point) or love (2 points) their favorites. At the end, the artwork that receives the most points will win that category.
· The Most Joyful Expression category will be awarded by MWR staff.
We will have four categories; best kid art ages 0-12, teens ages 13-19, adults ages 19+, and most joyful expression which all ages may enter. Winners can only win in one category
Prizes:
For Ages 0-12 and 13-19 prizes will be a chalk creativity set Ages 19+ and Most Joyful expression, prizes will be a $50 Amazon gift card.
