Golf Course Update (as of June 1, 2024)

Happy spring to all as we start this new playing season.  We had another mild winter which lead into an early opening again in mid-March.  The playing surfaces of the course were in good condition as we started this year with no damage from the winter elements that we sometimes see.  We have however, experienced a series of strong rain events through the winter season that continued to erode damaged areas from some of the worst summer/fall storms the course has ever experienced.  Cart path edges, bunkers, and other periphery areas saw the worst of this damage and will take a significant amount of time and resource to repair as we move through the spring months.

As players may have noticed there is a great deal of activity currently on the golf course.  We are in process of installing a new course wide irrigation system.  This badly needed system will be a “game changer” for how we maintain the course in the future.  Currently the mainline piping is being installed followed by lateral piping and sprinkler head installation over the next two months.  The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of July, followed on by a pump station replacement in October.  We are very excited at this new system coming on-line and the work is commencing nicely to date.  There are areas of temporary disruption but between the contractor and our staff we are keeping this to a minimum and expect that very soon the course will be back to normal.

The clubhouse project continues to be challenged and we are experiencing further delays by the contractor.  Currently we are seeing progress elements take place but what is being communicated to us is possibly a late season ability to enter the facility and begin set up operations.  We are very excited to have the opportunity use this great new facility and are anxiously waiting the green light to take those next steps.

The driving range is now open for use and we have already seen a great deal of play from our community on it.  We have both new premium mats to hit from and an opportunity to use the grass teeing area on occasion as the surface allows.  Please come out and enjoy this great feature we have to sharpen your game.
